People who have adopted the Swedish Lagom in their interior speak of a “golden mean”, but why ? This is the principle of “slow life” which is based on moderation, balance and simplicity by claiming a conscious lifestyle in perfect harmony with the planet and its limited resources. This new philosophy of life is inspired by the Danish Hygge trend which is the quest for happiness in simplicity.
Eco-responsible approach
Swedish Lagom style is part of an eco-responsible approach to reducing consumption and waste. Indeed, on the decoration side, all you have to do is declutter your interior because the goal is to have less (keep only the essentials) but of better quality by using natural materials such as linen, wood and straw. No more paper bags, reusable bags and baskets are preferred. To go even further, some prefer to make bulk purchases (cereals, spices, rice, pasta, etc…) which they then put in pretty jars.
The colors used are generally clear and natural for a reminder to rest and a healthy life.
